Twitter is awesome, let’s get that straight. But sometimes, it really draws you in and takes you away from getting things done.

I actually get less work done when twitter is down... a lot of the great things I read all day come from it - Twitter being down hurts my learning... not to mention I keep hitting the refresh button every so often in hopes of it being up.

I think twitter on a seperate monitor running an auto refresh every 5min or so would be sweet. I may just have to implement that.

Some of us have found that a good way to maintain productivity is to never sign up for Twitter in the first place. :-)

OK, that was easy. Firefox plugin... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/115After install you can setup twitter page to reload at preset intervals, working well for me so far.

@Wingnut: yeah, I see you Twitter all day long.  But hey, I’m guilty of the same :)@planetc1: cool plugin and useful for what you’re saying.  Personally, I use Twitterfox.  With that, you can have it pop up with every update (read: annoying) or you can just watch the statusbar and see the number of tweets in your stream increasing.@SearchBuzz: just as long as you don’t turn red and break through walls saying Oh, Yeah!, that’s perfectly normal :)@Halfdeck: exactly.  How can people be expected to work in times like these?@MattMcGee: you say that now.  But we will bring you to the dark side.  It is only a matter of time.  :)
