Twitter is fast becoming a serious platform for discourse and discussion. More than a status app, it is being used as a first alert mechanism for the dissemination of news and for immediate discussion surrounding that news. It is the coverage of news events and the continued emergence of citizen journalism that will push Twitter toward the mainstream this year.

Twitter is fast becoming one of my favorite addictions :) Twitter is great for staying up to date on information and for promoting your own stories. I see a bright future for twitter :)

Like it, it's funny. Met some nice people, found some nice sites and useful stuff.
Like a big agora, everyone shouting in a chaotic pandemonium, but it makes sense after a while.

If twitter continues to crash as it's been doing the past few days, many may break their new found habit and jump ship. When it's working I love it, let's hope they continue to scale for increased usage.

Heh. I actually don't think anyone will jump ship... they're just go do something else in the meantime while Twitter is down. I know I did. People are hooked on it. Users will stay because their friends will stay.

It's very difficult to replicate the kind of interaction and community you have with Twitter... probably the reason why even microblogging competitors like Pownce lose out, even though they have much better features.

I have been unable to "follow" anyone at all.

Every attempt gets an "there has been a technical error" error message.
