They are. Case in point: you sphunn this. Besides that, someone else wrote the same question a few days back and it was here on Sphinn, yet didnt go hot. Kind of crummy, fellow Sphinners :P
I dont believe them to be overrated at all. But then again, I dont concentrate on monetizing them.I use them as a gauge to figure out if my readers like what Im putting out there. If I see a lot of referrers from RSS readers, I know that my reader base likes the topic Im putting out. If I dont see a lot, I know that perhaps I need to change subject matter around a bit to appeal to them more. Its value in that way is incredibil, and irreplacable.
Absolutely.Subscribers = return visitors = advocates = referrals.So yes... they are very important.
