That is their politics. Every blog in one 2007 seo competition using wp.com was banned too. So as commercial blogs... wp.com is suitable only for non commercial releated bloggs. Use blogger or own domain....
Yeah, I used blogger for http://www.yicrosoft.info/ and http://www.gh-yicrosoft.info/ and not having any problems.
@coolice I agree.
I think that WordPress should consider each blog individually. For example, some of the blogs in the Yicrosoft directory competition do have some good, genuine content and those blogs should remain regardless of their purpose. On the other hand I totally understand the stance of WordPress that a spam site is a complete waste of their resources which they are offering for free.
