Lee Odden was checking out WordPress.com site on “types of blogs” for creative ways to categorize them.He found a page separating blog types into two categories: “popular” & “banned”. Guess where SEO blogs fall? Sigh.

Misleading post.  Nothing to see.  Move along.

It’s not misleading. Lee makes a good point. When WordPress says these types of blogs aren’t allowed:SEO blogs: Blogs that are written for search engines instead of humans. These blogs are dedicated to trying to fool Google and other search engines into ranking them highly. WordPress.com is not meant for this type of activity. It’s possible some people will think "SEO Blogs" means that SEO has nothing to do with making content for humans.I have no doubt that the folks at WordPress understand the difference between SEO and "Search Spam Blogs," which is what I’d have called this category. And a simply change to that defuses the issue. Nice if it happens.

That’s the first time I’ve ever Lee Odden post called "misleading."

Thanks Danny. The "misleading" reference is a bit ironic no?  My last comment on the post for those that don’t click through:  "The page on WordPress is not talking about SEO blogs, it’s talking about search engine spam blogs. Calling them SEO blogs is misleading."
