People who think that PPC is not a long term strategy don't know how to take the best advantage of the industry.

Yeah, too many people jump into PPC thinking it's a push button activity. It's merely a performance based payment model for targeted ads, not a magic cash genie.  You gotta be smart about your bidding, your landing pages, your keyword use, your ad copy, your budgeting, pay attention to ROI... All that stuff you businesses have (or should have) been doing for years on pulp and the airwaves... you aren't off the hook on that just because your marketing is traveling through a series of tubes now.

oh man... I'm not a native english speaker and I still write better than that. I mean, I am not for grammar police, but I found it really difficult to get past the following mega-sentence:

"A quick run down of a long story, a Good friend worked for a client that believed that traffic from search should be FREE, that wasn’t an issue for like me at the time we only dealt in organic traffic , so he got paid quite well, but here was the thing one of their competitors want my services for months, they had wine and dined me at conferences, talked PPC, content and link budgets and they want to win at all cost. I told me friend he should drop his client."

Neyne: Just because someone isn't an expert at English, or rushed a post should not be commented on really. The content is there for a reason, and that is what should be commented on, grammer and spelling are just asthetics.

I agree with you in general and, believe me, I am the last person to comment on someone's grammar and spelling mistakes since I make a lot (I'm particularily bad with the articles since my mother tongue does not have such things so I have to guess where to put them), however there are grammar mistakes and there are articles that the grammar makes it hard on you to read. And since DaveN is a native english speaker, this just reads as lack of effort to make your article readable...

I guess it is mistake ridden post, and he should of proof read it before publishing it. So ok, i'll partially retract my comment, but people make mistakes and your post seemed to be a bit harsh to be honest, and thats why i commented ;)

"Ideally a smart on line business should be looking at marketing in every channel to ensure they're getting the biggest slice of the Market. whether it's Banner ads, PPC or organic as long has you maintain you profit margins in each sector you will be fine."

What else can I say but I totally agree? PPC for clients where there's a huge latency between a visit and conversion is a hard sell, but even in that scenario, all you need to pinpoint is the average conversion ratio. Once you have that, you know how much each visitor is worth, and then CPC that will yield a positive cash flow.
