*** The title tag is one of the most important factors, used by the search engines in determining a pages relevancy? It is also attributed a weighting in most of the big search engines ranking algorithm. Due to its importance a lot of thought should go into the choice of keywords that go into this tag, the most important keywords (this will be shown at the top of your keyword selection) should always be included in the title and any others you can add are a bonus. Make sure however that the title is readable and descriptive and not merely a list of promoted terms. ***
You missed the most important point. The title should describe what is on that particular page.
From that, it follows that the title of each page will be different to all of the others on the site.
I think you'd agree that the title of the blog post does exactly that... and thus demonstrates the importance of the title.
But you're absolutely right g1smd.
Simon
Your right g1smd, thanks for pointing it out and for taking the time to read my post :)
This was humorous. I loved it. Thanks.
Metatags are outdated. Why even bother writing articles about that topic?
Good article. What you wrote about titles was all true, I just thought that a new user might be tempted to have the same title on every page, or have keywords in the title that don't reflect what the content of that particular page was all about.
Hence the additional comment to make them match up for best effect. Keep on writing. :-)
Hi Superking, well i was never a dedicated follower of fashion, thus the mohawk I sported in 2006. Thanks for the comment, but i think i'll keep writing the old metas as i still think people need to understand what they are getting from the SERPs, i know i do. :)
I didnt think about that g1smd, thats a really good point actually, i know a few of my clients have done exactly that on their sites. Thanks again :)
