RSS Feeds are too comfortable. What does this mean?
Depending on our time and engagement, we settle down with 50, 70, 100 or more subscriptions. We read the news daily and get enough input and inspiration for our next blog posts. But then the curse emerges, a curse we actually do not realize.

As I commented on the article, he has some excellent points.  It's important to keep your horizons wide.  In addition you may wish to throw in a little randomness.  Checking out websites from like-minded people in StumbleUpon could be one way.

Another way is to use Bloglines or IceRocket to run keyword searches for the things you are interested in. That can often throw up either newcomers to your niche, or just that one random interesting post on your topic by someone who normally writes about something else.
