Very good advice, but I simply can't log in to any IM account. If I do, I'm trapped by a dozen or so people who suddenly need to chat with me, and I get nothing accomplished. The only exception I make is if someone contacts me in some other manner and suggests getting onto IM.

qwerty - I would definitely recommend starting a new account then and create the same name on each service (AIM, YIM, etc) and then use Trillian for your "social" accounts. That way you won't get bombarded... IM is such a necessary part of the toolbox in terms of building relationships...

You're probably right, Chris. I guess I'm back to using Trillian, although it apparently doesn't let you use it for Skype or Google.
