He has this issue, Birds Fly Into His Office Window way too often. But He believes this is the first dead one he saw outside of his office.
So sad.

Yes, it is sad. :(
Very sad indeed. However I was shocked when read the title of this post because I thought that it was this one which became an ex-bird:

Hmm. I thought this was going to be a post about divorce.
Ahem.
Hi Folks,
I am a birder and my husband and I run our county's local birding blog. Tens of millions of birds die this way every year, and America is currently facing a bird crisis. Our songbird population has decreased by 40% over the past few years. This makes the effort to protect the birds that are left even more important.
Barry - if you can afford it, there are very inexpensive clear, ultraviolet decals you can put on your office windows. Birds see in ultraviolet and this will help break up the reflection they are seeing of the sky in your window, and hopefully, prevent the birds from crashing. For a bit more money, you can buy sheets that cover the whole window surface. They still let the light into your office, but reflect in a way that warns birds they aren't seeing the sky.
Without seeing the bird's back, it's hard to be certain, but your bird looks like a type of goldfinch to me, though it might be a warbler. Ornithologists are desperately trying to protect our disappearing birds, many of whom are on the brink of extinction because of man's activities in the U.S. If anyone is having this problem of birds repeatedly flying into their windows, please, consider proofing your windows to protect the birds. It's really an emergency at this point in history.

Miriam,
It is an office building... I doubt I can add those decals to all the windows. There must be a thousand windows or so.
Sphinning because of Miriam's public service announcement. Otherwise it does seem a bit of fluff (or feathers)
poor pretty little thing.
Barry - you're right - you cannot put decals/cling-ons on every window - but you can put them on your window(s), and if you do - maybe others in the office will see your good deed and be inspired to follow suit.
I can... Maybe we can start a decal fund to help this cause.
bah nevermind, edited
Hi Barry,
Yes, I understand that's a problem. But, if you could even do it on your own windows, it will decrease the danger just that much. Good luck with this.
