You can't be serious... There's only 1 sure sign that your landing page is a turn-off - when you test it against another version, it performs worse. If you're taking the advice in this post without testing it (which the author does not suggest), you're shooting yourself in the foot.
I'm not desphinning, but I do call BS on this advice. If it was titled "13 ideas to test in your landing pages," that would be one thing, but to me, the author sounds like an academic and aesthetician who's never actually done LPO.
The article is actually pretty good. It only consists of general advice against the use of silly layout and composition techniques that most scammy marketers use on their sales pages. Nothing that requires years of experience in LPO.
It's a good article, but like Rand says, testing is the only way to really know what works and what doesn't.
Sphunn for Rand's comment, not the article.
like the 1000000 other typical ebook sales letters out there. long sales letters dont work. or atleast not the way I see them mostly. Spunn for things NOT to do and I agree with Rand...
Don't be afraid to Desphinn guys - it's not an insult and allows you to take action on something you disagree with.
Don't know whether I agree with this or not. I mean, either the sites coverts better than the previous one or it doesn't. I would rather lean towars taking a look at this list to see how you can potentially make an already decently performing landing page better by optmizing it slightly with these steps. Most of these are relatively minor though.
Since content is king, we really have to make sure that the content is relevant. And as much as possible, it has to the contain all hte information readers want to know.
