Thanks for Sphinning this! These are great tips as reputation management is crucial to any business. This day in age, it can take one person to grow angry at you and tarnish your good name.
As usualy, Glen gives some great reputation management tips. Thanks for sharing this Ann, for some reason I don't have ViperChill in my feed reader.
Really great tips. This has hurt me in the past, acting in haste and whatnot. The way I see it, just act as you would in real life, with respect and such, and you'll be all set.
Wanted to let you know about a newsreader out there that exists that bases it's content on what the user actually WANTS to see. It's called 'Sprout'. Very intuitive, quickly learns what you like to read and what doesn't interest you. There's a free trial on now. You can find it here: www.yoursprout.ca.
@asnider You definitely should!
@ yojspew Thanks!
Good find and important article. Congrats. As I commented on the article, the important thing is to realize that an online attack is potentially much more damaging than one in the old traditional media. Whereas ignoring it was very often the right big corporate response before the Internet, it's not black and white now. You should estimate how things might develop either way, by responding or by not responding. Both routes have pluses and minuses. By assessing the risks of each approach, you will be better equipped to make your choice work well.
The courteous ways to deal with negative comments from bloggers. Good post, Annie. We can't get rid of it.
