Blumenthal's update on Google's plan to address their Local Business Center categorization issues which have affected small businesses since LBC's inception.

The Google Category issue has been a real technical problem in Maps. Search Marketers and SMB's would be well served if this is taken care of sooner rather than later.

Personally I very rarely use the categories as they are now.  Most modern businesses can fit into several categories, so a tagging-style system makes a lot more sense.

Even tight integration with google regular search, so a search for pizza searches for people who are listed in the local search for that area and who pizza is a word that they're favored for in their main web page.
