There has been some recent discussion on whether or not one can end up building links too fast. The thought process behind this is that the search engines might interpret a vast number of links pointing to a particular website all at once as a signal that a webmaster is attempting to manipulate the search engines.

Short answer? Yes.
Long answer? Fast links will rank you fist, but will dissappear quickly if you can't maintain that speed.

So Shady, are you saying that you could spam out 10K links overnight to a competitor's site and hurt them?
