- Sphinn It!
The bulk of the article is focused on the many benefits of forming a local SEM organization that weve learned one year into the life of SEMpdx.
Only a true Northwesterner would understand why a Portlander getting his city disrespected by an ex-Californian while attending a conference in Seattle might be rankled a bit. However, we bring this to attention out of respect for Danny since we know he must have had a brain hiccup at that very moment and would never make that mistake again:.)

I have tons of love for Danny, but hes going to attend a future SearchFest whether he wants to or not. Were putting together such a good conference, that hell want to be a part of it or feel the wrath from his faithful followers.
and since its in March, maybe it will rain again like last year, and Danny can feel right at home!
So Todd, heres the deal. I totally dont remember saying this about Portland. I just makes no sense. Im from the West Coast. Of course I know Portland! :)
For the apparent misquote and hype-y way Dannys name is used, Id rather bury this, but... The article presents an interesting case study of how industry organizations can be effective and breed cooperation between competitors. So for that reason it deserves a sphinn!
I didnt personally hear the exchange between Danny and Kent...but whatever actually happened, the exchange did inspire Kent and Scott Orth to start our organization...showing that the end result was very positive for our community and our members.
Oh, if I was misunderstood and it helped lead to the new group, thats fine by me -- dont get me wrong. I just need to clear my name. How could I not know Portland? Its Portland!
