Similar to urban blight, virtual blight is the contamination of online communities by deviant practices. Virtual blight, such as malicious spamming and website bullying, drives away good traffic and forces reputable sites to relocate if they want to preserve their businesses.

The SEL version starts out
"banners promising hot sexy singles and cheating spouses, pornography and Viagra, payday loans and OEM prices on Adobe's Creative Suite 3, all bombarding us with offers that are ethically suspect and often illegal."


That's completely wrong and excessively moralistic, no? Dating sites and payday loans are very popular, and serve very legitimate purposes. Last I checked, no judge deputized the author to decide if the latent value of unused OEM software licenses is resellable, a legal gray area. And perhaps a campaign against sexy images as ads should start with beer.com or SportsIllustrated, or perhaps Victoria's Secret?

The article goes on and on apparently making a case for the authors new website about blight. I call it keyword spam, and I desphinned for the first time EVAH.

No offense, I just don't see it as worthy. Maybe, it's Sphinn blight?

They say "hot sexy singles" and "pornography" like it's a bad thing.
Here's a hint: If people weren't clicking, they wouldn't be there.
