I have to say something like this is very enticing in a competitive marketplace but we have to have ethics and morality.  I have clients all the time that want to rank for their competitors name and I have to tell them I am not willing to do this.  If I lose them as a customer because of this then that is better for me at the end of the day than knowing that I have performed a service that is causing a moral dilemma.

Once you know firsthand how to use your time to effectively improve your own site, cheap tactics like this are just a waste of time. I can make major improvements for my company in far less time than it takes to wage a vendetta against our competitors. Then again, I don't have an army of spambots...

Fact: many are doing this. We have to know the rules and live by them, too.
