Also meant to add that his RSS idea is very interesting, and I agree 100% on the politics/Internet prediction.
I like the baby idea, thought it already existed.
I think Matt is spot on with the illegal BH hacking of blogs. It's already picking up volume and requires continuing vigilance for any blogs that have any SE visibility.
He's spot on in most cases there. But I don't think too many blackhats will have to shift illegally yet. Just be a bit more creative. But I have seen an increase.
I'd add that Negative SEO will rear its ugly head in 2008...boo
"traditional blackhats with a difficult choice: risk doing something illegal or sit out."
That's a little too black or white, no pun intended. I think the choice will be completely toss ethics out the window or changing tactics. Sitting out doesn't seem like something that sounds much fun.
His predicition on RSS is very true. RSS is sleeping giant in terms of consumer moderated content - i.e. putting the choice in the hands of the reader not the publisher. A bit of a scary idea for publishers, but a dream for consumers.
What a list of predictions from Matt.
The hacked host thing isn't much of a prediction considering I already reported it happening in January, it was hacked in 2007 and the sites still aren't cleaned up.
Matt surely has a “man crush” on Danny Sullivan eh?
Always thought Boser was the one Matt had a "man crush" on...
