The long anticipated announcement by John Mueller (aka JohnMu and Softplus) that he will be joining the Google Team in in their Zürich (Switzerland) office, joining the team around the Webmaster Tools as a Webmaster Trends Analyst.

To see how much John has already helped the Google webmaster community one only needs to view the stats for the Official Webmasters Help Group at http://groups.google.com/group/Google_Webmaster_Help/about where he has over 7000! posts.

I don’t know JohnMu personally, but I too have experienced his brand of "above and beyond the call of duty" assistance. This guy is the real deal. He knows his stuff, and he REALLY goes over the top to help. It certainly does look like John has hit the job ’sweet spot’. I just hope the ’Corporate’ atmosphere doesn’t stifle him. Congrats JohnMu.
Google is lucky to be able to get someone like John. He has been a very informed contributor at the Cre8asite Forums. I only hope he will maintain his Softplus Gsoft Crawler for generating site maps. It’s a really fine program and service. All best wishes and congratulations, John

Congrats - so much effort toward supporting the community and it pays off! Gotta love that kind of payback. But then someone who puts in that much to the community isn’t doing it as part of a job interview, so he’s got my respect even more.
