They don’t rock. They’re nauseating.

Superb. .. and the author counted down from 10 to 1.  That’s so important.  Ah, the suspense.  If you didn’t go all the way, you missed the point. For me, I really prefer Top 3 lists in any order.  That’s much more engaging.

I like how this article fails miserably at how to properly structure a top 10 list. Bolded text? No thanks. Sub-headings? Nope. Throwing a number infront of a bunch of paragraphs is not how to make scannable web content.

>>>They don’t rock. They’re nauseating. Everything has it’s place. What’s really silly is when people post top ten lists for SPHINN readers who are already in on the joke. I mean, come on... hehe. LOL

Top 10 lists are like the wedding vows exchanged between Digg and Cracked.com

I have kind of started to tune out Top anything lists these days. I think they have a shelf life, though the expiration date may be a few years off.

Top 10 lists are typically something people write that have nothing valuable to say so they organize lists of crap so people think they know something which they don’t except how to make stupid lists that even lamer people read.

Well Bill, don’t flame me to a crisp for saying this, but that’s a bit harsh. :PCertainly, it’s a commonplace for many years now that Top Ten Lists float to the top at Digg. But I get a sense that it’s missing the point, or at least a little bit artless to do it over and over and over again at Sphinn because Sphinners are expected to be in on the technique. So I don’t believe it resonates quite the same way it’s meant to as a technique for spamming Digg. That said, a top ten list can be helpful and useful. I don’t have anything against it, and have read some great ones referred from Sphinn. We need a top ten list of ways to make it to the top of Sphinn without resorting to top ten lists.hehe.

You just made my point as DIGGers are the lamer people that read those top 10 lists.Ooops. did I say that out loud? (ducks)
