What US-backed Saddam Hussein didnt manage in 8 years of war and Bush Junior wont in the future, I did twice on the weekend: I took the front page of Iranian Digg called Balatarin by storm!
I just won the hearts of the Iranian people. This shows that SEO 2.0 surpasses any other means of "optimization." Link to the 2nd post that made it.

Brilliant. Dont know about "SEO 2.0" because IMV its good ol guerilla marketing and social engineering, but then so are fancy faddish terms like that as well. :)
Gonahkar has you pegged, it seems :) BTW, Iran also has a few very good filmmakers.
I didnt even have to trick or "bait" anybody. Also its not marketing at all, as I do not sell anything on my blog (not even ads). Its just about reaching out to the people! Even in cultures supposedly completely different than "ours" we can win over the public by true blue positive postings.
qwerty, youre right! I knew about the movies but forgot! Well, Gonahkar and another guy expressed the same wariness but its nothing compared to Germany where people flame regularly for no apparent reason just because I dont hide that Im doing SEO for a living. The Iranians are great! In fact I really offended them in a way by citing the media prejudices and nobody got angry at me.
@no marketing: Arent we all supposed to be link whores vying for clickable attention? And isnt that marketing, if only to purchase cachet? Full agreement re Germany. Overall, they hate anybodys success excepting their own. (And yes, there ARE exceptions - this is merely a general statement, and by a veritable kraut, too, so keep your cool whoever may find this offensive!) Now THAT might be a challenge, heh. (Not that I can be arsed...)
Attention is a good term. The attention economy really forces you to "market yourself" even if you are not selling anything. Basically to get noticed for whatever reason it is indisepnsable.
Yep - "the click justifies the means". :)
