Some really good advice...the big guys just seem to have dollars to throw into PPC.I am sure Walmart and Sony will eventually learn.
All of the advices look like common sense ... but it seems theyre not. At least not for Walmart.
Couldnt agree more, highly targeted searches should be driven to specific landing/product pages, not dropped off in the no-mans land of a home page.
The company I just started at had created a huge adwords campaign several years ago, and no one had touched it since. CTR and conversions were awful, and no one was monitoring ROI in any way. I came in and started tweaking it and now PPC accounts for almost 50% of sales on the web. It seems many of these big companies just set up their campaigns and throw money at them.PPC is not fire and forget!
I was going to agree with bogden but from the number of examples its fairly obvious that there a lot of SEM professionals working inhouse or for requitable agencies that just sort of suck.
