Stan Schroeder wrote a piece on Mashable questioning whether the popular micro-blogging service, Twitter should be used for anything important. He says, "if it’s important, don’t say it on Twitter. If it requires a response, don’t say it on Twitter. If you actually care whether anyone will see what you’ve just written, don’t say it on Twitter. Twitter, however fun it may be, simply isn’t designed for it."

Sorry Stan, I don’t agree.

While I find Twitter useful and even entertaining, I also find that I have to check myself from spending too much time on it, or it becomes a distraction from running my business.  Some of the tweet threads I’ve encountered are absorbing.  Some of the topics and places they lead me to are fascinating.  I feel like Alice going down the rabbit hole -- one new adventure leads to another. But at the end of the day I have to ask myself, "how much does that activity really move my business forward?"My contractors are still expecting to be paid each month. and if I’m not focusing on my own house, I am letting them down.  No matter how much fun it seems.Anybody else have similar concerns about Twitter?
