As I commented on the post - Yes, but ... This could be seen as parallel to the statement, If you dont like marketing, then stop marketing. You need to be dialoguing with your prospects and your customers. If not, you leave the field to the competition. Use other methods for that dialoguing if you wish, but blogging is far superior in ROI to any other method.
Well, Ive tried making a client blog at gunpoint, but if a cient doesnt wanna blog, you cant force him. Its not always easy even if you got a copywriter to work with. Some of the roadblocks Ive experienced:- a client insists on linking to sites like cnn.com or wikipedia.com instead of linking out to other bloggers in the niche- a client insists on linking to his own site with keyword-stuffed anchor text with every single post- a client refuses to inject opinion into a post - instead opting to write "newsy" articles that reads like weather forcasts - a client insists on writing to potential buyers instead of writing to the linkerati- a client refuses to "join the conversation" and instead just publishes dead messages like "why today is the best time to buy real estate"At the end of the day, blogging is one of the easiest ways out there to generate organic links to a site. Of course there are other ways to get links, but in general they require alot more work.
Most of them are up for it, its when they try and do it themselves that things go pete tong. Typical strategy invoves getting a .blogspot blog, writing incoherent sales pitches and addding links back to their site in every post.
Oh, and dont forget the obstacle of having to get each post approved by legal.
@ClickFire those are the worst - 6-8 weeks to find out you have not got a cat in hells chance of your linkbait being publihed. God dam FSA.
If you dont like beer drink wine.If you dont like bloggin create a static page. You have to be enthusiastic about what you do otherwise you will fail
Oh... and yes I am enthusiastic about beer drinking :)
True, stop marketing if you dont want to do it. Blog what you enjoy.
