Sphinn is not a dumping ground for any old blog post. Our guidelines specify the purpose and focus of the Sphinn community.  The user that was banned - and that is now claiming mistreatment in the story that is sphunn here - submitted the following three entries, via 2 separate sphinn accounts - I defy you to find a shred of internet marketing related material in any of them.

Can't have it both ways folks. Expect good content and submit spam. And spam doesn't mean just the obvious viagara, auto parts, etc. spam.  Continued submissions of off-topic content will result in your account getting banned. We've repeated this over and over.   And as for the whining about not being notified?  You're notified via our guidelines.  You accept the "risks" when you submit - especially continually - off topic or blatant spam to Sphinn.

Sorry, not going give actual links - even nofollows - to a spammer that then goes on to claim innocence.

Maybe someone could take the time to explain that the links she submitted were indeed spam since they do not cover topics covered by Shpinn?? Sphinn is about internet marketing, not about episodes of Lost etc.. That is what makes them spam when posted here..

Just like some people think that any post about internet marketing submitted to Digg are spam..

If you submit a topic that is outside of the scope of the site you are submitting it to it will, and should be, considered spam.. Do it repeatedly and you could easily garner the label of spammer..

From a management perspective, can you imagine the manpower needed to email and explain to everyone that spams a site that they are in fact spamming and that they should stop it?? It's easier to simply ban them all and deal with the handlful that may be innocent, confused, or simply didn't bother to try to find out what the site was all about before hitting the submit button..

If someone else were to have found this post and submitted it to Sphinn, would it still be considered to be irrelevent to the Sphinn zone?
This person claims to have never received a reply from Sphinn with any sort of explanation as to what is considered spam.
I guess for future reference, it would be wise to reword this type of thing as an inquiry, then submit as a 'discussion'?
