I always like Raes writing - nothing ground breaking here that we havent seen before (and *cough* thats not surprising for a last minute article [runs away]), but good, solid advice, to make you think oh, I should try ... :)
LMAO... thanks for that ;-)While this isnt groundbreaking, Id be willing to bet if I asked 50 SEOs "quick, show me your linkerati list!" only 5 would be able to do it.
Have you tried using a system like salesforce to manage your contacts? When dealing with multiple industries at the same time it can be useful. My spreadsheets begine to look cluttered after awhile.
Create Something Worth DiscussingWhat a concept! I wonder why some just cant seem to grasp it?
Ah, but the fun part is when you are working in industries that dont *have* linkerati. :(Note to self: pull out finger and become the niche linkerati ;)
Each time you contact that person, do you use the same email address? In other words, do you establish a personal connection with each `linkerati` or do you present yourself as a random tipster each time. Id suggest the former, but keep in mind that sometimes, in some situations your identity can work against you and there would be benfits to being anaonymous.
Weve always had a better response just being ourselves... that said, weve done things as "anonymous tipsters" before... we just find the more lasting results to come from the former :)
