This tool seems like it has a lot of promise. But what happens if your followers find out your tweets are being automatically generated - will they be less likely to pay any attention to them?

Twitterers don't function that way.  I know no one likes to be painted with a broad paintbrush but that doesn't mean they can't be.  Twitter is popular, in part, because you can scan short tweets to see what's up... so no one cares if your tweet is auto-fed because it's short.  If they didn't like you in the first place they probably wouldn't have added you... and if they don't like your content, then they'll just unfollow you regardless of whether your tweets are autofed or not.
