Are good SEO's really still peddling the myth that they have the secrets nobody else has? I don't think so, surely.......
d
There are still a ton of little secrets. Doing competitive backlink analysis, for example, will occasionally unearth a few surprises. There's no point blogging about most of the secrets because they either give you a competitive advantage or are still laying golden eggs. It's more about knowing the web than knowing how Google works - and last I checked, the web is a big place where alot of stuff goes unnoticed.
@Halfdeck
I disagree. Backlink analysis is a fancy word for Yahoo Site Explorer isn't it? You can always get a pretty good idea as to what they are doing to achieve links, whether they are black hat or white hat, or should I say grey hat as white hat companies are a rare breed.
If you go for an extremely competitive keyword, you could never say you achieved results through white hat techniques LOL!
Your response 'last i checked, the web is a big place where alot of stuff goes unnoticed' is a great answer for someone who clearly has nothing to back his theory, good excuse halfdeck LOL!
