A few more Sphinners have just been added. Congrats to:- Sebastians Pamphlets- Hamlet Batista- Andy Beard- Eric Engeand whoever else Ive missed
In all honesty? It looks like a marketing campaign that seeks to reach out to key communicators and bring them on board with basic flattery.Seriously, is anyone saying its a great service? Is anyone saying theyve been asked for input? Or is it just a little targeted flattery, with the aim of turning communicators into evangelists for yet another aggregator service?
Brian.... U can be on MY list any time big boy... he he... Sour Grapes SEO (see blog fer details) :0)A list is a list is a list... and as Brian suggests sending out emails is a great way to get some publicity, tho SEOs should be able to find it pretty quick anyways. It does seem a little screwy as far as a mixture of search marketing stuff (not JUST SEO) and some ..erm...suspect, listings. Congrats none-the-less to you and other happy campers K - always nice to be loved.... back to my grapes..
Im on the social media section of Alltop and it probably sends me less than 15 visitors everyday according to my stats... I dont think itll get me many new readers in the long run. Might be useful for some people though. And flattery + free exposure works... I would have probably promoted it the same way, if I released an aggregator tool-thingy.
15 visitors eh? Hmmm thats not exactly what I had in mind. Well see what happens. Admittedly, I am a huge Guy fan, so my reaction was magnified x 10 LOL.
Ok, now I just feel silly
Well, K - Ill give the site a run next time I am researching niches.. maybe I will make a GCSE for each niche, or does he have that going on already? Would be an interesting angle... My grapes to wine seemed a treat - so I guess it works on me :0)
Oh and a few new notables since this morning;Wiep KnolDebra MastelerJill WhalenMichael Martinez(thanks Guy)....
Ive got a site listed in the health category. I actually like the service and have been checking several areas for new ideas. No news on traffic stats yet, Ill post if anything interesting appears.
I enjoy Guys writings, but I havent found myself to be a fan of anything hes launched or even invested in lately. Great personality for a once-in-a-while antogonist interview, though.
Oh, sorry - and a big congrats to those who made his list!
Thats a bit more comforting, thanks Michael.
It doesnt speak much to their editorial skills that Threadwatcher is included. No offense to Earl but they havent had a new post there since last August?
Yup thus my rant; http://www.huomah.com/News/Latest/Sour-grapes-and-my-wrath.html
i rank #1 for seo blog and I dont make the grade ... yeah good list there
I also got added a couple of nights ago too.
@GW - yup.... certainly a few holes to be sure. Guy seems pretty good about it tho.... so hopefully it will round out - did U want me to make another sphinn discussion for U (again)? j/k -
Help me out here - news aggregrator from a search professional that doesnt actually disseminate, categorise or organise information in any particularly useful, new or inspiring way. Whats the point?Re: the about page - "A table of contents" would at least list information in a meaningful order. "A dashboard" would have some function. "A digital magazine rack" is probably the most accurate description, but given we *browse" magazine racks and are already using a *browser* what more does this actually bring to user experience?Basically a scraper site that hand picks the sites it scrapes from? Someone correct me if Im missing some spectacular meaning to the project. If the brand goal is the "cessation of Internet stagnation", how does it actually achieve that goal? The FAQ is just plain arrogant:Q: What if I want my site removed?A: Because you have to much traffic? Just send us an email.Lol!Desphunn for what its worth - press release for a glorified scraper site doesnt constitute front page news IMO.MG
Its a compliment anytime anybody whos human links to someones blog :). Its all good.
Agree with Scott - Desphunn.
Dosh Dosh,If youd like to be removed, just let me know. Guy@alltop.com.Guy
Thanks for the add Guy. :-)
Glorified scraper site that offers nothing unique. Not front page news.
Pointless PR flattery article. Desphunn. 50 character limit.
Checked the site out for my first and last time. Dont see how it adds anything of any value for anyone.
