Over at Sphinn you can witness a real live cat fight - yep, the old-fashioned kind. Jill Whalen and Lisa Barone, two of the hottest Search Engine Optimization chicks in cyberland are brawling over whether or not there should be Search Engine Optimization standards. Personally, I dig fighting chicks. It all started when the infamous Jill Whalen came out slugging with her “We Don’t Need No SEO Standards” cat chant.

Catfight between hot chicks? Hello? What are we, in the stone age again? Do I need to burn my bra? Tried to Desphinn this with no luck. Adding more text more text more text more text because desphinn is a piece of sh*t... Still can’t get it to work and now I’m madder than when I started! Somebody with the secret sauce for Desphinn please desphinn for me.

I want to know how an intelligent discussion became a cat fight? Because we’re both female? Lame.

Lame, indeed.  I tried to DeSphinn, but the system wouldn’t let me - kept saying my message was under 50 characters (it wasn’t).Anyway, this is a waste of blog space.

It was of course all said in jest and as a woman who Sphunn this herself on this end but did not write it, I thought it was poking a little fun and perhaps a little controversy to add to the blogosphere.  While we can all argue whether or not this kind of talk perpetuates sexism or stereotypes, again it’s just an edgy post geared to gain some attention (like several within this industry and others).  There’s go to be more pressing issues to focus on. :)

this post is a damned lie.  at no time was there any pulling of hair, scratching of eyes or partial nudity.  however i’m still willing to sfin it because i have solved the SEO Standards issue and this article takes me back to a time when there were no such standards.  It’s like my own little time machine.

Clearly I’d had too much coffee and reacted a little strongly, but this type of post is just silly. It propagates the SEO boys club where arguments between females are treated as amusing but not to be taken seriously. While if the disagreement had been between two male leaders in the industry, it would’ve been blogged about in a more serious context. I just don’t like to see this stuff go unmentioned as it really sh*ts me.

@debra  :p  Good luck picking your fight, but Christine will never bite. She’s too nice. (Unlike Lisa who is mean.)
