Found this post from The Jungle Map very interesting. I’ve been wondering the same thing about capitalization. Thanks for the new understanding.

I suspect it may be an issue of proper names going on. Another test using a word or phrase that is not ’normally’ capitalized would be good.Actually I think I DID notice this some time back when researching results for a client. It had to do with how Google and Yahoo treat "exact match" differently. Google is (was) giving preference to exact match of the user’s search much more than Yahoo... so if the searcher used Caps, the results are more likely to include Caps too, on Google anyway. Yahoo seemed to care less and was more flexible. If Google and other SE’s start to cough up results based on small case vs. caps search, good grief!Frankly I think if they do, it’s such a bad idea - for the user! Never mind the implications for SEO and marketing.I’m not going to worry about it too much for now, but it’s an interesting point to keep in the back of my mind.Fiona

Just for the record, it’s not just for proper names.  It’s happening with other search terms as well.

Also, a colleague in Canada is not showing any difference in results yet.
