More on the Search Marketing Standards discussion. ProjectPHP asks for definitions of what standards mean, and Ian McAnerin delivers with some great definitions and lots of other useful information to continue this debate.

This is all well and good and Ian does a great job of defining standards but what I would like to see is some examples of seo standards. In all this debate there is not one single example of what an seo standard would look like. The reason, I fear, is that if anyone attempts to write one, that will create be a debate within a debate. This would indicate that there can't be standards based on Ian's definition until there is agreement: Standards = Documented agreement on specifications, rules and norms.

I guess everyone is already sick of this debate.  I'll look for it again in 2 years or so when I'm sure it will be back.
