Mixx, a social media submission site, is a newcomer on the scene, so it understandably will take a while for it to catch up with older sites like Digg, Propeller, Reddit, and StumbleUpon.

Many new sites are following this model.  IdeaPipe for example at www.ideapipe.com aims to take on Dell IdeaStorm (Salesforce.com Software) by providing a general outlet for people to share their ideas.  In the near future they plan on developing private groups much like what Mixx has done successfully for its users.  This should foster groups and the sharing of ideas in groups in a social network like way.
