Just as there are countless credit repair companies that claim they can wipe your slate clean and remove negative items, there are many reputation management firms claiming they can "remove negative search engine listings." But can negative listings actually be removed? Not just making them less visible by pushing them down off the first page. But actually making it so the page no longer exists on web server or in the search engine index?

Overall I very good read but I don’t like number 6 at all. "Threaten a Lawsuit", I guess in some cases this could be a good course of action but in many situation this just seems boorish!

Boorishamerican,I don’t really like any of these tactics... and I agree that threatening a lawsuit is usually bad form and can very easily backfire. That’s why I put it down at #6 on the list. A last resort, for sure. But sometimes it works, and it is one of the few working ways of removing a web page you don’t like.
