My goal in owning the trademark for the word SEO is not to try to force people to change their SEO process, but rather, prevent companies from selling “SEO” as a service under false pretenses.

Who the hell died and appointed him SEO Standards?

An amusing attempt by an individual that is going to get absolutely nowhere with this effort and is wasting both time and money in the process.

There are as many definitions of "the SEO process", as there are SEO's.

Maybe the guy's just invented a new kind of linkbait. There must be a heck of a lot of people linking to him at the moment with anchor text that includes the words SEO and Trademark.  Although I suspect there may be more than a few with anchor text that is far less complementary or relevant as well.
