This Title should be changed to read "SEOMoz Competitor Busted....." or "SEO Agengcy Busted...."Good article, Bad Title.... so I’m just going to comment neither sphinn nor desphinn.

I agree.  I was extremely confused by the title.  I thought it was some new gangsta rap language that I’m too old to understand or something.

While the title made me scratch my head to; I have to admit that it was the title that got me looking at the article itself out of maybe a hundred new feeds that came in over night.  I wouldn’t particularly change the title as I’m sure many others are going to take a look purely because of the confusing yet concise title.

I am far more disturbed by the content, and would advise anyone charging clients to review all of their disclaimers to their clients very carefully. I think this may become a landmark case in the public’s eye, and the litigeous nature of America may wreak havoc on SEO firms across the country.

thanks @jfj3rd & @footinmouthdisease - much appreciated the sphinners have spoken & I respect the wisdom of the crowd - so if a Sphinn mod wants to get in touch with me about the sphinn headline: http://twitter.com/kevinheisler (real time) or kevin.heisler@searchenginewatch.com

@KevinHeisler how about changing the title on SEW too, so the search results for misspellings of SEOMoz’s name aren’t filled with listings making it appear they’ve been fined?Desphunn because the article makes it appear as if a legitimate SEO company is in trouble with the law.

I thought Mos Def got out of the music industry and turned SEO!  ;)

Why the hell would "SEOmoz Competitor Busted..." be a better title? Because it mentions SEOmoz? If that’s the case, any article about an SEO company that’s submitted to Sphinn should be titled "SEOmoz Competitor..."

Rebecca - because if you read the article, Kevin points out that SEO Moz (i.e. Rand) has been quoted several times about this particular company and it is inferred that they are competitors.  Most people also didn’t get the SEO "Mos Def" .. and actually thought it was SEOMoz he was referring to - clarifying that would make more sense.

great debate - sorry i’m late jumping back in; if Rand asks me to change the SEW headline I’ll give it serious consideration; Did ANYBODY think SEOMoz was sued? Much less banned from selling SEO services AND fined $100k+? C’mon, seriously.(RE: changes - I revised my Google post tonight at Google’s request so it’s not unprecedented; I made and noted all the changes in an update i’ll submit so you can take a look at my decision, what I changed, and why)so far sphinns in this debate are running 2:1 ahead of desphinns -- so let’s see what the community says; i haven’t asked anyone to sphinn this post in Twitter, by email, or IM@SearchBuzz lol ... Mos Def AKA "Mos Definite" or "most definitely" was the idea behind the title@Dazzlin’ Donna ... it’s mos def NOT gangsta rap; Mos Def rebelled against gangsta rap to bring back socially responsible rap post-Biggie Tupac @thejenn can fill everyone in on my thinking behind the headline since she was kind enough to get in touch with me personally; it originated in Time magazine list - Mos Def #69 check it out@storyspinner is right RE: randfish wrote a long post about his debate with the IA sales rep on a phone call; if he weren’t in Sydney he probably would’ve reported the story@squishee Rebecca: love the Jabberwocky desphinn - you’re so funny; hope more people read it; desphinns should be in comments section@jeffquipp thx too for getting in touch directly - as i said, i’m okay with Sphinn mods changing news titlles; Graywolf changed one of my titles b/4 so i thought that was SOP; np on my part@ALL- Sphinn is welcome to ask Google to delete the sphinn URL from Google index; sphinn is #2 for "seo mos def" with an indented result #3; ditto for kw "seo mos" (btw - there are no misspellings for "seo mos" - only "seomos" - and Google suggests "seomoz")SEW is on Google 1st page for kw slang "mos def" - and it has nothing to do with mozzers

Desphunn for sensationalist title that makes it appears as if SEOMoz is the one in trouble. Not cool.

Might have been good story if SEOmoz hadn’t been dragged in for no particular reason. I think any SEO firm would be a competitor, duh

The use, implied and explicit, of SEOmoz in title and content by such a knowledgeable writer must be viewed as deliberate abuse.
