Looks like some DMOZ editors decided to take the dirty laundry outside. Read the comments...

After 8 years online I'd think Google's algorithms have evolved enough not to be so chained to the DMOZ and Yahoo! Directory, both of which are nothing but link sellers.

I think it is very interesting that Google gives so much weight to the directories that "sell links for money" when they are telling everyone to nark out sites that sell links.

How far does the "paid link" corruption go?

Does Google get a portion of each kickback from dmoz and yahoo?

People start talking about DMOZ and all I hear is "blah blah blah blah."

Probably unrelated, but... after many months of providing no or only marginal value to the editor pool, my DMOZ login finally got disabled. I was wondering how long it'd take them. (And, alas, I was never offered money to include someone.)

If you don't edit for four months, the log-in is just inactivated.

In that case, you can re-apply to reactivate it any time you want.

I "edited" at least once a month, but minimally.
