This is just what I needed to read this morning, thanks 4cdawgs. I'm in the process of putting together my own online community and was on the fence with the use of avatars on the site.

Also, it is best to have the same avatar in all accounts. It's part of telling people who you are.

Nothing really ground breaking here.  Sure Avatars have always been important and the need for them to stand out is obvious.
