I like the box down below. And actually yeah, we do plan to do this. As a general FYI, I’ve been traveling the past two weeks, as has Michelle. But she’s actually overseen a number of features that have gone live that I haven’t blogged about. We’re actually talking tomorrow do an update, run through a final list of bugs and essentially and then pull this sucker out of beta and move on to adding some cool stuff plus, yes, better buttons :)

I like the box "button" look too. I think the real problem was simply that the medallion/number image looked like a button, and the text link didn’t.
I’m sorry, but from a designers perspective, the entire design is just ugly. Though, the design doesn’t affect my great love for Sphinn.
