Danny Sullivan writes, "Looks like Google's gained a new direct answer service, whois information for domains. Enter a query like whois searchengineland.com, and you'll be told when the domain was registered and expires, along with a link to more information from the Domain Tools site."

I tried this with .com TLDs and it works. I tried it also with .gr (Greek TLD) and it doesn't work. It doesn't seem to work with .eu and .org either. Maybe this will be incorporated later.
@KevinCheng, I think it only works on Google.com and only for some TLDs.

Another facet to this story is that domaintools.com may or may not honor a Google user's request!  A number of users from Google receive the following at whois.domaintools.com:

"Security : Anonymous user may be too resource intensive.  You have reached your daily lookup limit as an guest user. Please login or register."

Is Google writing checks domaintools.com can't cash?
