As social marketers we are communicators, digg is simply the path of least resistance to communicate our message. Yes, our message may be one of persuasion, but it all comes down to communication. We must speak to those who have influence, and I gotta say, a lot of accounts that once had influence have had their power drastically reduced.

I have been watching lately and to me it seems like friends carry about 10% of the weight as a normal digger. So 30 diggs with no friends gets you to the front page, but if only friends digg, it will take around 300. I also think they may be starting to take domains into account, like if the story is froma trusted source, wired, bbc, etc. it will take a few less votes to get to the front.

But I could be totally off! It just seems that way after watching it pretty close for about a week.
