Most of our clients have several things in common, they are normally running Wordpress and the first indication they have been hacked is either a sudden loss in rankings or the stop badware notice appearing for their name. Now Wordpress is not inherently unsecure but with popularity comes greater risks

Movable Type is available free of charge as an open source version by now.

I never used movable type so don't know its suitability as an "enterprise" level blogging software perhaps it would be worth compiling a list of such scripts, I see a project

There is a place for Wordpress for sure, and these considerations are all very important. I can publish a new blog on a decent template in about 8 minutes.... that's quite a powerful tool for times when a quick launch is valuable. The overhead costs of course must be considered for other cases.

I'm more interested though in viable alternatives. MT is also high management overhead, not dis-similar to WP. ExpressionEngine's licensing tems are unacceptable to me (and it has nothing to do with price). Drupal has maintenance costs, and is quite complex for many projects that need to evolve in their markets.

I've been putting this information together for users for a while and some just don't want to believe it, because Wordpress is so popular, and there are so few articles like this.
