Can it ever be neither? For example, I noticed a fellow sphinner (Wiep) posted a comment. His link helped me find a post I was seeking. Someone posting "great info" may actually be trying to participate in the conversation (I’ll admit it’s probably unlikely), not yet knowing a better way to go about it. Perhaps there is an opportunity to teach proper commenting techniques.
