Rand recently extracted from Matt Cutts semi-official confirmation that controlling Google Juice flow around a site using nofollow is ok.
You could look on this post as a client case study which includes links to my client which do not have nofollow, or you could look on it as web spam because I happened to be paid using a service Matt doesn't like very much (Pay Per Post)

Various methods of "juice control" are fairly easy with static sites. This article looks at how Google juice can be controlled on a Wordpress Blog without modifying any core files (just themes and plugins) and contains some suggestions of quite advanced linking structures.

For reference here is the article on SEOmoz

http://www.seomoz.org/blog/questions-answers-with-googles-spam-guru

My post is 2 months old, and is the one I was referring to in a discussion on reviews on Sphinn

http://sphinn.com/story/3904

I might have submitted this before, just after the launch of Sphinn, because I was looking for more feedback (and possible improvements) on the linking structures, but wasn't sure if it would be acceptable.

Now I am throwing it to the lions

Some people may have read it before, if you enjoyed it then, don't let that stop you giving it a vote now :)

A lot of my research is based upon think like Revenge of the Mininet and Leslie Rhode's Dynamic Linking bonus.

Those were first published 4 years ago, and haven't been updated in 2 years.

My own article takes their concepts a little further and tries to automate things a little once a site is set up.

I have seen a few related articles on Sphinn recently so thought I would add that one to the pile, with an added twist.

Hi Andy, long time no see. ;-)  I'm glad to have run across you again.  I'm not sure if your work has improved since our last encounters or if I'm just in a little better position to realize the quality of it.  Or maybe both? ;-)

Anyways, I look forward to reading more by you.  The analysis you give in this particular post is excellent and I can only comment up to the point where it overwhelmed me. ;-)  But it definitely begs for me to get a site review from you when the time comes.

Wishing you the best,
Sam
