Problem is, there are other times where the substantial volume of direct, indirect and social proof strongly contradict your claims, undermine your credibility and, rather than bolstering your authority and appeal, make you look downright silly and untrustworthy. They reveal you as a fake. I’ve been seeing this happen more and more in the world of blogging and social-media lately.

Nobody begins their blogging journey with high traffic, above 50 RSS readers, or otherwise ’stat’ gods / goddesses. Innovation is not always noted in the analytics. Expertise is not necessarily shown by followers and a -lister attention. Sometimes, an expert is an expert when he / she sees the under - traveled road and is wise enough to take it.

Why does it have to be about right and wrong, worthwhile or worthless? You will gain something by someone incorrectly stating something, so there is something to be gained either way. Plus, nobody knows everything. When you have the whole of the internet viewing your post, there is bound to be someone who finds an innacurracy.

People should read entries for themselves and form their own opinions, not rely on others to do this work for them.
