Now dont tell me we dont count page views nowadays anymore as this is about news and online newspapers for example, not AJAX apps.
I consider this spam, because it is paid placement of the topic/post to sell a seminar. I recognize not everyone thinks its spam, so I just exercise my desphinn. 15:1 so far in favor of promoting it.
It is paid placement, and therefore technically spam. Service sounds interesting, though. While I feel some compulsion to DeSphinn, have decided to leave it as is after including this comment.
I admit that I wasnt sure myself if its OK with Sphinn. On the other hand its not "spam" as it has a value on its own. The only difference to the usual "I submit myself" Sphinn posts is that its not self-promotion but promotion of somebody else. Plus there is the full disclosure which often is left out by some colleagues. Now as often the case in social media the negative votes come from users who rarely contribute and thus I do not have the impression that I have gone too far with this submission. Correct me if I err.
I find comments like this disappointing. Ive been a user of sphinn from the beginning - but I rarely contribute because I am not confident that my opinion has anything to add to the discussion. If social media sites like Sphinn are to avoid becoming cliquey hang-outs for the "In-crowd" there needs to be just as much space for people to exercise their opinion in the negative as the positive.
Kudos to dylantovey. As for this part:" the negative votes come from users who rarely contribute and thus I do not have the impression that I have gone too far with this submission. Correct me if I err."I am not King Sphinn but my opinion is: consider yourself corrected. If you havent got quality to submit, dont submit. If there is a shortage of good posts something will be done about it.
99% of what you post is good stuff! However, this one is skating on very slippery and thin ice. I dont believe paid posts have a place here, regardless of the standalone merit. I would desphinn this, but apparently either the site is having a glitch with desphinn, or my desphinn permissions have been pulled. Hmmmm...
topic is sponsored, so I desphinn. Ads are ok, but placing a topic is like spam.
i am with john on this sponsored posts shouldnt hit fp
desphunn for sponsored and calling something "Semantic SEO"
I dont really see the news factor in this. I can appreciate that its not just a paid review but still lacks fp status
If the info from the promoted webinar was present I woulda sphunn it
I dont believe paid posts have a place here, regardless of the standalone merit.
Even with the disclaimer its a little salesy...although has generated some interest...
