Ok bloggers...Do you blog for business or pleasure? What results are you seeing from your blogging efforts? How long did it take to see those results? Do you feel it’s worth the time commitment?

I’d say a resounding hell yes to this question. But I suspect you’d get a skewed opinion on Sphinn. As digital marketers most of us know how to generate traffic and results that boost and maintain ongoing motivation.

I’d have to say hell yes as well. While many times you fail miserably at success, blogging on its own isn’t about power, success, or money, its about expression. I can’t think of what I could do more that’s productive, profitable, fun, and connecting then blogging.

I think part of the issue is defining "worth". If blogging was just about driving traffic then no, it probably wouldn’t be worth it. It’s why I feel the general quality of the blogosphere is reduced by the increasing focus on revenue as a reason to blog (rather than a nice end result). But blogging is far more than that. It’s enjoyable, and it’s about being able to state your opinion and be heard. I love writing my blog, that’s why it’s worth the time commitment. If I didn’t like doing it then - while it might have long term business benefits - it wouldn’t be nearly as worth the time I commit to it.

I agree with this article...blogging is indeed worth your time because it helps your site get noticed and also it lets out the news to everyone that your site exist.

Kimberly - thanks for submitting my article! To everyone who has commented here, thank you! We all view blogging from a different angle, but what most of us seem to agree on is that there’s more to it than just drawing traffic to your site. We find it enjoyable, a learning experience, an opportunity to express ourselves, and a way to connect with others.
