Everyone has heard the phrase "content is king." This post argues that the saying should be changed to "controversy is king."

In my opinion, controversy is just temporary...good content is still the king..^^ it doesn’t only give you traffic but a recurring traffic.

yoj- i think it is a combination of the 2. controversy is what can help you get the people to your site, good content is what will make them stay/keep coming back. maybe it’s best to think of them as king and queen =)

excellent point EricB. which headline would you read first? a. "3 Accused Of Using Corpse Head To Smoke Pot"orb. "Drug Addled Teens Vandalize Cemetery"catch my eye and then give me good content.=P

good content that leads to insightful / funny / interesting discussion is king.controvery for it’s own sake becomes predictable and the shrill voices peddling it tend to lose credibility quickly.
