I love posts like this. Avatars are underated, imo. I recognized 24 without having to check who they were. It says something about ones effectiveness in branding.
@planetc1 Very true, but I also think that you can take any avatar (common or not) and brand it to represent you with good activity and networking within communities.
There has been much discussion on Twitter about actual photo of yourself vs. graphic. It is sometimes easier to recognise avitars if the graphic is unique... but some have argued that using a photograph leads to trust.
Avatar is really important especially in self branding..in my case, I always use the same avatar in all my social sites that way my friends from other social sites, once they saw me on another social sites, can easily identify me..^^
Sometimes you just have to advertise
Great article. Was a clever idea to use the example avatars, the article wouldnt have been the same with out them.
What if my Avatars a furry - is that good or bad? :p
Nice ideas on Avatarising Yourself.
ha ha Disco Stu, I get it ;-)Fuzzy - that goes well with your branding, doesnt it?
Its always better to use the same avatar to all your profiles in social sites. You will be more recognized.
