Great post.

One of the hurdles I faced is there are few "key bloggers" in my niche. I moved laterally to supply content for those blogging about industries with similar needs and/or situations. It's a slow start but things are picking up.

Some very nice suggestions in there.

I still need to read Stephen Covey's book, but nice use of the metaphor.

There are some real gems in this article!

I like the ideas, the relation to a great book ;), and utilizing things that most internet marketers and bloggers just plain forget are out there in the sea of linking for traffic.

This is definitely an article I will pass along to my readers! Thanks!

A quote from the post :"Don't send your content away to an article directory, build a library on your site and stock it with your articles."

I still struggle with this for our clients. Reading it here only makes me wonder more. Is it better to keep the article on your site or get links with it or try both?

IMHO, keep the grade A stuff for yourself. Take the B stuff and give away partial articles with deep links to whole articles, give away some C stuff every month.

Shel, I think Michael answered it best here. The idea behind loading a site with the best content means you'll attract the elements you need to grow both your algorithmic and professional reputation.

And I've never gotten much mileage out of the directories. I find a lot of people reprinting articles without giving credit OR I find snippets of the article plastered on people's blogs as original. Either way it's not helping me.

Thank you all for the kind comments.
